PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics. It is used for lossless image compression, which minimizes the loss of image data during compression. It supports a wide range of colours such as grayscale, indexed color, and true color which are crucial in high-quality digital image display. Due to its accessibility across all the image editing software and web browsers, PNG is one of the most popular format with a wide range of applications.
A CDR file is a vector image file created with CorelDRAW, a vector illustration and page layout design application included in the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. CDR files primarily contain vector image data, such as lines, paths, shapes, and colors, but they can also include text, raster images, effects, and other elements. CDR files are often used to create brochures, posters, logos, web banners, and other graphic design projects. While CorelDRAW is the leading software for opening and editing CDR files, other Corel products, like Corel PHOTO-PAINT, can also open CDR files with limited editing capabilities.
To convert files from PNG to CDR use an online tool that supports mass conversion, like Convertjack. Such a tool transforms single or bulk images at once to save time.
Go to Choose File, and select any PNG photos you want to convert. If you want to do a bulk conversion, click Choose File and select all the PNG pics you want to convert.
After uploading the PNG image, click the “Select Format” button at the center. A drop-down menu will pop up; select CDR.
On the bottom right corner of the display, click the “Convert” button. Your converted CDR file will be ready for download.
Click the “Download” button on the right side of the CDR file, and the converted image will be downloaded. If you convert multiple files, each file will have a “Download all” button in front of it, and you can click each button to download all the converted files.
To save a PNG file as a CDR file, you first convert it to CDR and then download it.
Instead of converting a file manually from PNG to CDR, use an online tool like Convertjack to convert the file without losing any details.
After converting the PNG file, Download the CDR file and save it in the default folder for all your downloads on the desktop or mobile.
One of the advantages of CDR is that it allows for non-destructive editing of vector images, enabling users to adjust elements like shapes, colors, and text without permanently altering the original design data. The main disadvantage of PNG is that it is a raster image format that does not support non-destructive editing, meaning any changes made to the image are permanently applied to the pixel data. If preserving editability and quality in design work is essential, it is better to work with vector formats like CDR.
