RAW files are files that contain unprocessed data created and captured using a digital camera’s sensors. They ensure a high level of image detail and lossless quality. Before using RAW files, they must be imported into appropriate software for editing or exporting as a different raster image file, such as PNG or JPG. RAW format is often called ‘digital negative’ because it constitutes the ingredients of a photo needed for processing to produce a picture’s full potential.
The ODD format is an XML-based open standard file format for office documents. It is used for processing Word documents, graphics, presentations, and spreadsheets using ZIP-compressed XML files. The ODD files are vendor, platform, and application-neutral, enabling expansive interoperability of all office documents and sub-documents. It is free from restrictions, royalty payments, or any other licensing. The file format comprises a standardized ZIP archive that contains various directories and files. It allows for a single XML document that uses the <office:document> root element to process office documents.
To convert files from RAW to ODD use an online tool that supports mass conversion, like Convertjack. Such a tool transforms single or bulk images at once to save time.
Go to Choose File, and select any RAW photos you want to convert. If you want to do a bulk conversion, click Choose File and select all the RAW pics you want to convert.
After uploading the RAW image, click the “Select Format” button at the center. A drop-down menu will pop up; select ODD.
On the bottom right corner of the display, click the “Convert” button. Your converted ODD file will be ready for download.
Click the “Download” button on the right side of the ODD file, and the converted image will be downloaded. If you convert multiple files, each file will have a “Download all” button in front of it, and you can click each button to download all the converted files.
To save a RAW file as a ODD file, you first convert it to ODD and then download it.
Instead of converting a file manually from RAW to ODD, use an online tool like Convertjack to convert the file without losing any details.
After converting the RAW file, Download the ODD file and save it in the default folder for all your downloads on the desktop or mobile.
One of the advantages of the ODD format is its strong compatibility with various software applications, particularly in graphic design, photography, and printing. This broad compatibility ensures that images can be accessed and edited easily, reducing compatibility issues. The main disadvantage of RAW files is that they are large and lack standardization, making them unsuitable for direct use on many general-purpose applications. Converting RAW files to ODD retains high-quality image data while making the file more manageable and accessible for editing, sharing, and printing across a broader range of software.
