RAW files are files that contain unprocessed data created and captured using a digital camera’s sensors. They ensure a high level of image detail and lossless quality. Before using RAW files, they must be imported into appropriate software for editing or exporting as a different raster image file, such as PNG or JPG. RAW format is often called ‘digital negative’ because it constitutes the ingredients of a photo needed for processing to produce a picture’s full potential.
A BMP format is a simple raster graphics file or image format created to store the displaying device's bitmap artwork or digital images autonomously, primarily and initially on OS/2 and Microsoft Operating systems. The file format is sometimes called Device Independent Bitmap (DIB). A .BMP file contains a relatively larger amount of information, making it ideal for storing high-quality images. The file format specifies the number of bits per pixel in the file header, although BMP files are uncompressed. Their images range from black-and-white (1-bit per pixel) to 24-bit color (16.7M colors).
To convert files from RAW to BMP use an online tool that supports mass conversion, like Convertjack. Such a tool transforms single or bulk images at once to save time.
Go to Choose File, and select any RAW photos you want to convert. If you want to do a bulk conversion, click Choose File and select all the RAW pics you want to convert.
After uploading the RAW image, click the “Select Format” button at the center. A drop-down menu will pop up; select BMP.
On the bottom right corner of the display, click the “Convert” button. Your converted BMP file will be ready for download.
Click the “Download” button on the right side of the BMP file, and the converted image will be downloaded. If you convert multiple files, each file will have a “Download all” button in front of it, and you can click each button to download all the converted files.
To save a RAW file as a BMP file, you first convert it to BMP and then download it.
Instead of converting a file manually from RAW to BMP, use an online tool like Convertjack to convert the file without losing any details.
After converting the RAW file, Download the BMP file and save it in the default folder for all your downloads on the desktop or mobile.
One of the advantages of the BMP format is its broad compatibility with various software applications, especially in graphic design, photography, and printing. BMP files can be accessed and edited easily due to this compatibility. The main disadvantage of RAW files is that they are large and lack standardization, making them unsuitable for direct use on many general-purpose applications. Converting RAW files to BMP simplifies their accessibility, but BMP files are often much larger and do not support the same level of high-quality image data as RAW files.
